Autumn Recipes

season of mists and mellow fruitfulness

We are all familiar with the season of mists and mellow fruitfulness…But just what are and when do we find nature’s wild food treasures. Autumn is a time when the year’s fat lambs are going to market, the hedgerows are full of the late season fruits, rosehips, blackberries, sloes and bilberries. The orchards are bursting with a crop of apples and pears.

Field mushrooms and edible fungi abound. Local potatoes are in plentiful supply along with carrots and beans.
