long daylight hours

The long daylight hours give everything an extra charge of growth-inducing sunshine. All manner of food-forage plants will now be in flower, and summer fruits will be growing in profusion. Wild Raspberries in the hedgerows, the glut of the all too brief Strawberry season, Damson time is in full flood in late August and it is also the peak time for some of our most flavoursome ‘weeds’, such as Dandelion, and salad crops are also at their peak.
